Paraguay signed the Treaty of Tlatelolco on April 26, 1967, ratified the Treaty on March 19, 1969 and on that same date presented its declaration of waiver of the requirements indicated in Article 29, paragraph 2, of the Treaty of Tlatelolco.
Paraguay signed a Nuclear Safeguards Agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on February 22, 1978 in accordance with Article 13 of the Treaty of Tlatelolco.
Paraguay signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) on July 1, 1968 and ratified it on February 4, 1970 in Washington and on March 5, 1970 in London.
Paraguay signed the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) on September 25, 1996 and ratified it on October 4, 2001.
Paraguay signed the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPAN) on September 20, 2017 and ratified it on January 23, 2020.
