Jamaica signed the Treaty of Tlatelolco on October 26, 1967, ratified the Treaty on June 26, 1969 and on that same date presented its declaration of waiver of the requirements indicated in Article 29, paragraph 2, of the Treaty of Tlatelolco.
Jamaica signed a Nuclear Safeguards Agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on November 6, 1978, in accordance with Article 13 of the Treaty of Tlatelolco.
Jamaica signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) on April 14, 1969 and ratified it on March 5, 1970 in London, Moscow and Washington.
Jamaica signed the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) on November 11, 1996 and ratified it on November 13, 2001.
Jamaica signed the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) on December 8, 2017 and ratified it on October 23, 2020.
