Costa Rica

Costa Rica signed the Treaty of Tlatelolco on 14 February 1967, ratified the Treaty on 25 August 1969 and on that same date presented its declaration of exemption to the requirements indicated in Article 29, paragraph 2, of the Treaty of Tlatelolco.

Costa Rica signed a Nuclear Safeguards Agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on 12 July 1973, in accordance with Article 13 of the Treaty of Tlatelolco.

Costa Rica signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) 1 July 1968 and ratified it on 3 March 1970 in Washington.

Costa Rica signed the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) on 24 September 1996 and ratified it on 25 September 2001.

Costa Rica signed the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) on 20 September 2017 and ratified it on 5 July 2018.
